last night at dinner ella wanted to share some of lima beans with danny - just to get the off her plate faster :)

ella: daddy, would you like a lima bean (takes him 1 bean in her hand)

daddy: (taking the bean) have you washed your hands today, ella?

ella: no, but i wiped my own butt (as danny is eating the bean!)

i got such a laugh at danny's expense over this one!!!

Vegas Night, Baby!

My parents, Danny, & I attended a charity event last night with a Vegas theme! My aunt babysat (thanks again, Diane!!) and we had a wonderful evening out!

3 Billy Goats Gruff!

The older girls and I went to see a play at the children's theater with Allison and Madeline. Ella absolutely loved it! She talked about it the rest of the day! After the characters would finish singing a song, ella would clap and say bravo, bravo! Layla liked it, except for the mean old troll :)

mary, did you know . .

that ella pretends to be you! she came to us last night with her blanket wrapped around her like a swaddle and had her baby in it and said, "look mommy, i am mary. and this is baby jesus." she than try to make layla be joseph - but she wasn't having it! good to know all that sunday school is paying off :)

Blizzard of 2010!

I say this with much sarcasm :) We were forecasted to get up to 2-4 inches on Friday and this city went crazy (shelves at the stores were emptied and schools closed)! We got a light dusting - maybe an inch in our area! BUT, any snow is great snow in the eyes of a 4 year old! The girls were able to go on a winter walk with daddy and they even found a spot to make a thin snow angel :)

layla got to pick out any toy tonight because today we had a big breakthrough - she pooped on her potty!!!!!! what did she pick?!?! diego's rescue pack! it was a toss up b/t that and a snow white set but her big sis influenced her decision a bit - ella's been wanting that rescue pack :) we already have dora's backpack so now there's a set! YAY to my big girl!!

baby steps

it's been two weeks since my surgery and i am finally feeling normal and healthy again! i began driving this week - what a wonderful feeling to get out of the house! i've got a post-op visit friday and i'm not expecting any surprises. it's been an unpredictable 3 weeks and i am more than willing to put it behind us and thank God for the blessings we already have! thank you again to everyone who has prayed for us and loved us during this crazy time! i am truly grateful!

Norah - she has begun getting up on all fours! she doesn;t quite know what to do when she gets there - she kind of gives me an "oh crap!' look and then falls! baby steps, baby steps . . .




Layla - she began sitting on her potty this week! if you have spoken to me at all about this, you KNOW how shocked and amazed i am that she has finally begun to do this! for the past 6 months she has screamed in fear of this thing - not quite sure what finally clicked, but who cares! she first began sitting on it with all her clothes on. i figured this would go on for months but the following days he began reading on it w/o her diaper :) she even peed!!!!!!!!! i'm not breaking out the big girl panties quite yet (she told me yesterday how much she LOVES wearing her diapers) - it really does go to show you that they WILL do it on their own time! baby steps, baby steps . . .
