Woodland Park Zoo

It was a beautiful Seattle day and we took Ella on her first trip to the zoo! She seemed to really enjoy it - most of all she LOVED the bears, hippos, and goats. She actually tried sticking her head and arms through the fence to get to the hippos and the goats came right up to her which made her laugh hysterically. We will definitely be taking her back many times!!

What a smile!!!

How can you not love that smile?!?!?!

Corn Popper

Ella's new game is being pushed on her "corn popper" by Danny, while chasing and scaring Lucy. She gets quite a kick out of it :) Lucy did not want to be photographed :)

Ella at the park

Ella is ALL girl . . she was more interested in sitting and trying to sweep up all the mulch off the play equipment than actually playing on anything (she does NOT get this from her mommy) but every time she got the mulch on her hands she got upset and needed her hands wiped immeadiately!! TOO funny :)

She eventually ended up on the slide - sort of!!

In the end, she left the crowds and went to do her own thing . . something she gets from her daddy :)

38 1/2 week check-up!!

We had our 38 week check today and unfortunately there is absolutely NOTHING to report!! This is very much deja-vu from our first time around. Layla has not even dropped yet and there is no dilation and maybe 25% effacement (they stressed the word maybe) . . so although we know labor can technically start anytime, we have a feeling we still have a good 1 to 2 weeks. We are amazed at how many things are different with this pregnancy as compared to Ella's, yet still exactly the same!!Jennifer's mom arrives on Monday, so we are hoping Layla is just waiting for grandma and then she'll get the ball rolling :) We go again to the doctor on Tuesday so keep your fingers crossed - We are DEFINITELY ready for her arrival!!!

Only 12 days until D-Day!!

Mariners Game

Bleacher seats for the Mariners: $14
Hot dog, Dr. Pepper, & Peanuts: $13.75
Ella getting a free Ichiro shirt: Priceless

She didn't want to stay in our seats very much!!!

But eventually, even in the midst of all the noise, she needed a break!!

Countdown to Layla Elizabeth

Well we got some unexpected, yet exciting, news today at Jennifer's doctor appointment. Instead of a due date of May 21st - giving us still about 5 1/2 weeks until Layla arrives - we are now looking at a due date of May 7th - giving us about 3 weeks instead :) Jennifer's mom will be here in 2 weeks to help with Ella, so we are hoping that Layla doesn't decide to come too early!!!!! Keep your fingers crossed!!

Even with the tight quarters now, Layla still remains incredibly active all day and through the night!! We hope this is not a sign of things to come :) And for anyone wondering, yes we are sure there is only 1 baby in there!!!

Easter Egg Hunt

We took Ella to a city wide egg hunt where she and other 1 year olds "hunted" for eggs. They really more or less stood around and waited for us to show them where the eggs were. But after a few times she got the hang of it and had fun! She even found a golden egg which allowed her to get a special easter basket suprise when we left!!!!

Tulip Festival 2007

The day started out very sunny so we drove north to the tulip festival. Of course, our luck came through and it turned overcast, cold, and rainy, but we still managed to take a few pictures. We plan on trying it again on a nicer day!
