Country Village Ducks

Grandpa finally arrived last night to see the girls so today we started what is going to be a week of doing everything we can while he is here! Today we went to a place called "Country Village" where they have tons of ducks and roosters and a goose that you can feed. As always, Ella had a ball!

Ella was almost too big for the swing when we had it for her, so it was quite hysterical trying to see her sit in it today.

Bright eyes

Layla is having more and more periods of alertness, although she still finds the time to sleep about 22 hours a day - what a life!! She had her 10 day check up on Monday and she is doing just great. She now weighs 7lbs 11oz - which is more than her birth weight which was good to hear. She's gaining about an ounce a day. For the moment - she seems to be a very laid back baby - which would be quite a change from what Danny and I are used to :)

Sisters

Ella just couldn't help herself when we brought out Layla's bassinet. She needs to check out anything new that comes into the house. Ella has already become very territorial of her little sister. She gets mad when Lucy tries to sniff her and she always comes and checks to see what's happening whenever Layla cries or moves! Of course Layla is still "new" so we'll see how long it keeps up :) Danny thinks Layla is all Rabun but we'll have to see. Ella is looking older and older by the day now that we have another little one.

And Then There Were Two!

After much anticipation, Layla Elizabeth finally arrived at 12:18 p.m. on May 12th weighing in at 7lbs 9oz and measuring 20 inches long. Jenn woke up at 7:00 a.m. with what she thought was false labor. After a call to the doctor, we made our way to the hospital and arrived at about 10:00; to our surprise we found out that Jennifer was already dilated 4-5 cm! We were immediately rushed to a birthing suite and by 10:40 she was dilated to about 8 cm! She got the epidural just in time and after about 2 hours of laboring at the hospital, Layla came into the world. After delivery we were moved to a very nice private suite (with gorgeous views of Mt. Rainier) where Ella and Grandma joined us later that afternoon to welcome little sister. After two and a half days in the hospital, we are now back at home and glad to be back in our own beds Enjoy the photos, we love and miss everyone and wish you all could be here with us.

Ella is definitely getting the royal treatment while grandma is here! Picnics in the park and lunch out at every restaurant getting whatever she wants - from milkshakes to cheese sticks :) I hope she doesn't get too used to it!
