Ella has learned to say "cat". She had her first real experience with a cat today at Rachelle's. She seemed to like them, but I don't think Danny will go for that :)

Christmas Tree Farm

In keeping with the greatest holiday family, The Griswalds, we decided to cut down our own tree this year :) We cheated a bit, because we got one from a farm rather then the middle of nowhere but it was still an experience!! It was VERY muddy so Ella was definitely out of her element!

We walked around about 30 mins until we found our tree!

Macy's Christmas Tree/Star Lighting

Every year in downtown Seattle they light the Macy's star and Christmas tree! I love going down for the singing, the crowds, the fireworks, and the fun :) Tonight we went down with some friends as well! Thankfully it was not nearly as cold as we were thinking it was going to be - or we just had that many layers of clothes on!! All the kids looked like the little brother from "A Christmas Story" . . "i can't put my arms down!"

Thanksgiving 2007!

Our friends, Dan & Cassia, invited us over for a great day of eating, drinking, and fun :) It was such a nice and relaxing day (mainly because I didn't have to cook)!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Boat

Now that Layla is sitting up we have brought back out all the "cool" toys to play with :) This is a boat that Ella always loved and it seems Layla does as well! I guess all children know the good toys!

"Jumpy-John"

Layla is getting the hang of this thing and I am enjoying watching every minute of it :) I don't know if we are supposed to laugh at our children this much but it sure is funny! The best part is, she gets this suprised look on her face like she's not sure how she's doing it but she likes it! 6 months is such a great age :)

Wish List

Ella is reading the Toys-r-us Big Toy Book! She was actually pointing to pretty much everything and saying "me, me"! So much for teaching everything in moderation :)

Layla has mastered sitting up! Now we are on to scooting on the tummy!


Notice the mess on her shirt! She's still drooling like a faucet and makes a MESS whenever she eats . . I've stopped trying to change her clothes everytime this happens - I'd be changing her 4 and 5 times a day :)

Rachelle came over with Toby today and I never knew babies could actually have friends, but make no mistake that Layla loves this little guy :) She just lights up when she sees him! I think they make THE cutest little pair!

6 month check-up

Well, if you can believe it, Layla is 6 months old and still growing!! We just had her check-up this morning and as always things went very well! She is a whopping 21 pounds and a very long 28 inches (keeping her in the 97%)! She even handled the 4 shots like a champ - only crying for a moment and then perked up when she found a mirror :)I thought by now I'd be used to it, but those shots still really get to me! She is doing everything a 6 month old is "supposed" to do and if all goes well, we don't have to go back for another 3 months!

I have to mention that Ella (who normally HATES even seeing a shot) got her flu shot today and didn't make a sound! She was enthralled with choosing just the right band-aid!

Babysitter?

Do you think 2 is too young to babysit!?!? She seems to know what to do :) It would help me out a lot!!!

I cannot say enough how much I love watching the girls interact now with eachother! I can tell Layla just loves Ella and she is so responsive to her now! Ella is definitly my little mommy! She actually tried to change Layla's diaper the other day and did a pretty good job :) I forget that she is constantly watching me and taking it ALL in!!!

We were in desperate need for fresh air today so we got bundlded up and went to the park! Sorry for the lag in photos, but my precious Ella has been sick ALL week!

Happy 28th to Danny

Yesterday Danny turned the big 2-8! Can you believe that in onle two years I'll be married to a 30 year old :) Unfortunately Ella has been sick all week and is still on the mend so we had to stay in and have a quiet evening. Though I don't think Danny minded because he got the X-Box 360! He stayed up until 1:30 playing the thing!
